Social Media Management
Social media management has always been one of my favourite areas in Communications. From creating content, crafting captions, and engaging with your followers, seeing a feed come to fruition with a dynamic array of posts is truly rewarding. Witnessing these efforts result in the ongoing growth of your online community serves as a constant reminder of the purpose of my work in this area, to build connections, and get creative. My 5+ years of social media management and coordination experience for various organizations in the non-profit and for-profit world have allowed me to test my skills in a variety of contexts, using my social strategies to grow an organization, build brand awareness, promote events, resources, and accomplish other items asked of me.

Case Study: Twenty Something Podcast
Growing a community on Instagram from scratch
As seen previously in my portfolio, the Twenty Something Podcast is a passion project where I often implement new social strategies I can apply to future positions or jobs, while growing our own platform.
Key purposes for the Twenty Something Podcast Instagram and how I implement them:
Drive traffic to podcast episodes by creating regular posting schedule of stories and feed graphics utilizing quotes, sound bites, guest profile’s, and more. Consistency is key.
Engage / interact with our online community to see what episode’s would be of interest, and ensure we are on target with what our followers value hearing. To do this, I ensure our language is approachable, often re-posting items our followers tag us in, and providing space for listeners to submit questions via dedicated posts for this purpose.
Present our knowledge / awareness of popular culture trends via meme’s and re-posts from other popular accounts.
Create a visual representation of our mission and who we are by posting profile posts on us, our interests, and our intent by putting a face to the voice.
Develop an aesthetically pleasing feed to attract potential followers, and increase brand awareness.
Follow like-minded organizations to make ourselves known in the podcasting community while also keeping tabs on what other similar podcasts are doing.
Please note my co-host and I retired the Twenty Something Podcast in November of 2020, but this profile and it’s content are still available for viewing here

Some thoughts on Twitter & Facebook
Twitter’s power is harnessed through the ability to manage reputation. Showing you have an active Twitter feed engaging with followers, like-minded organizations, pop culture icons, and more can come to the aid of a business in increasing their profile online. Feeds I enjoy that represent this mindset include Netflix, who constantly crowd-source content their followers post about tagging their platform. In doing this, Netflix demonstrates power in numbers showcasing members in their community consuming their product, providing a reason for other followers to do the same on what you “must watch” now.
More often than not, Facebook is a pay to play platform, offering opportunity to strategically place digital ads with monetary support, expanding on the organic growth capable through consistent posting so you can ensure you reach niche markets otherwise difficult to account for. Lastly, Facebook groups are an incredible resource to businesses. These days, there’s a group for everything. When one has a question relevant to the Facebook group, they post in it. By ensuring a member of your team is accessing these Facebook groups, becoming aware of what these communities have questions about, you then are able to position your business as the answer in new ways.
