My experience with web design

As a Freelance Communications Specialist, I have worked with several clients using Squarespace and Wordpress sites, implementing effective design and SEO strategies.

Please note that I do not claim to be a professional website designer. However, I have acquired 3+ years of entry level experience working with Squarespace and Wordpress that have equipped me to meaningfully engage with these platforms in order to effectively represent companies online, and suggest improvements for their current sites by evaluating customer pathways, and their current website branding.

Some of my website work:

  • The Acorn Restaurant

    Prior to joining The Acorn team, this restaurant’s website was operating with an early 2000’s Squarespace template that was no longer functional for the organization. Through some helpful tweaks and adjusted imagery and copy, the world’s #1 vegan restaurant according to Big 7 Travel (2020) soon had a rejuvenated look. My strategies: to focus on The Acorn’s farm to table mission, and get clear on messaging during several mandatory pivots as a result of COVID-19.

  • The Acorn Market

    The Acorn Market was the infamous Acorn restaurant’s pivot during the onset of COVID-19. Building this e-commerce Squarespace site from scratch, I was able to support The Acorn during this uncertain period, creating a new means for their customer base to engage with locally sourced, conscious ingredients. Product shots for all Acorn Market products during my contract (September 2020 - April 2021) were also photographed and edited by me.

  • Scarlet Jaxen - "Pussy Talks" Sales Page

    Scarlet Jaxen is a pleasure coach based on Vancouver Island. For her 6 month program “Pussy Talks” I worked one-on-one with Charlotte and her team in order to construct an effective sales page to promote this course with clear messaging on its purpose to empower women to achieve their deepest desires, dreams, and goals.
